Pathfire and DAX Form the First End-to-End Production Workflow and Distribution System for EPKs

Lifecycle Management of Electronic Press Kit ("EPK") from development through production, archival and final distribution - saving production and distribution costs and minimizing waste.

LOS ANGELES, CA and ATLANTA, GA - November 15, 2006 - Pathfire, Inc., the leading provider of digital media management and distribution solutions for the broadcast television industry, and DAX Solutions, Inc., the leading supplier of production workflow acceleration tools, announced today they are teaming to provide movie studios with a comprehensive solution that addresses critical inefficiencies within the EPK production and distribution lifecycle.

When a movie or television series is being shot, there are a number of ancillary assets created that are required for marketers and publicists to develop their EPK materials. Materials such as publicity stills, actor/director interviews, trailers, and "behind the scenes" footage are in high demand across multiple studio departments and divisions. This joint effort between DAX and Pathfire creates an integrated system to manage the entire workflow of these elements - from production to final distribution - to broadcast television station newsrooms.

DAX: The Production Workflow Accelerator™ ensures the proper elements are channeled to the right studio personnel fast - accelerating approvals and access to raw and developed content ultimately improving time to market for campaigns. During the production period, DAX: The Production Workflow Accelerator™ can be fully utilized for managing the creative development, production, and approval process between studios, ad agencies, marketing partners, and/or trailer houses.

DAX: The Production Workflow Accelerator™ is used by leading creative organizations around the world for the delivery and management of audio-visual and rich media production elements, like dailies, in both review and OMF/MXF formats. The solution is the result of over fours years of direct industry research and incorporates collaboration, workflow and full media asset management capabilities. DAX adds value to business units like Theatrical Marketing, Publicity, TV Production, Home Video Sales and International Distribution. DAX minimizes risk and enhances business velocity by helping production and creative executives manage every step, enabling central management and storage of all production elements and documentation; removing the risks and inconveniences of email or FTP; and the associated costs and delays of DVD or tape duplication and couriers.

Once the EPK materials are ready for distribution, they can be sent directly to Pathfire's Digital Media Gateway™ (DMG) from the DAX. Pathfire's DMG delivers EPKs to broadcast facilities in key locations across United States. Once the EPK is distributed via Pathfire, over 15,000 broadcast journalists have desktop access for browsing and previewing the content. Pathfire is integrated into newsroom workflow systems so the content can be transferred directly to newsroom editing systems or play-to-air servers. Furthermore, Pathfire provides unprecedented insight regarding how and when the content is used at each station. The EPK owner will be able to track key metrics such as confirmed arrival and EPK usage statistics.

Pathfire's DMG platform supports digital media distribution and management applications tailored for news, video news feeds, EPKs and syndication. Broadcast, media and entertainment companies use Pathfire' s delivery network in 1,400 stations to reach over 15,000 station desktops on a daily basis. Pathfire's DMG, which includes a robust distribution network, flexible hardware solutions, and innovative software applications, delivers unprecedented control for both content providers and stations.

"We're extremely excited about this joint effort with DAX" said Mike Eckert, Pathfire's President and CEO. "Together DAX and Pathfire extend the digital workflow for studios - from creation all the way to final distribution. Enabling this to be done on one system brings tremendous value to the process."

"Pathfire's Digital Media Gateway greatly expands DAX's distribution capabilities," said Patrick Macdonald-King, CEO, DAX Solutions. "Having one system to watch dailies, develop campaign creative elements and distribute publicity materials to end users saves thousands on media duplication costs, while speeding time to market which helps get our clients ahead of the competition."
