Pathfire and Digital Transaction
Group (DTG) Partner to Provide an Integrated Automation
Solution for Broadcasters
-- Industry Leaders Sign Agreement to Jointly
Deliver Digital Content Management Tool that
Automatically Connects and Transfers Programming
Content and Metadata --
Atlanta, GA, and Austin, TX, August
16, 2004 - Pathfire, Inc., the leading provider
of digital content distribution and management
solutions for the broadcast industry, announced
today a technology licensing agreement with
Digital Transaction Group (DTG), a top provider
of automation solutions for broadcast and cable
operations, to jointly develop a digital content
management solution that automatically ingests,
connects and moves programming content and its
associated metadata directly to air.
"With this agreement, Pathfire
and DTG are evolving broadcast automation, enabling
broadcasters to receive, store, retrieve and
air programming without any manual intervention,
which significantly cuts costs for broadcasters
while streamlining station processes for greater
workflow efficiency," explains Joe Fabiano,
Pathfire Co-Chief Technical Officer.
The two companies agreed to license
and integrate Pathfire Digital Media Gateway
(DMG) protocols, tools and services with DTG's
automation products to help stations improve
productivity.
"By combining Pathfire's seamless integration
technology with our popular AIRO Automation
System, customers can expect a more efficient
and streamlined process for digital content
management--from acquisition to play to air,"
said James Brown, DTG Vice President. "By
eliminating time-consuming manual efforts and
potential for errors, it's a win-win solution
for DTG, Pathfire and, most importantly, for
broadcasters working to get content to air in
the most efficient, cost-effective manner possible."
Product availability is set for
the fourth quarter of this year.
